On March 19, 2024, the Singapore EXPO hosted a highly successful event supported by the Ministry of Commerce, China (MOFCOM), and the Ministry of Trade and Industry, Singapore. The event was a collaborative effort by the Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SCCCI) and the China Chamber of Commerce for Import & Export of Machinery & Electronic Products (CCCME).

The event saw a remarkable turnout, attracting over 500 representatives from government departments, diplomatic agencies, leading enterprises, financial and legal organizations, and top universities from China, Singapore, and other RCEP countries. This impressive attendance underscores the strong support and high level of interest in the conference’s themes and objectives.

The conference focused on themes such as “Green Digital Intelligence, Industry-Education Integration, Park Cooperation, and Compliance Operation.” running from March 19 to 20, it featured key segments like the opening ceremony, presentations on investment environments and major projects from key Chinese provinces and cities, and topic-specific seminars. The brand exhibition, held from March 19 to 21, spanned an area of 6,000 square meters with nearly 130 companies from over 10 provinces and cities in China and Singapore participating. Yonyou Software (Singapore) Pte. Ltd. and several Singaporean companies showcased the collaborative efforts of Chinese and Singaporean enterprises in exploring the Southeast Asian market.

Building on past successes, this year’s conference emphasized “depth, breadth, and pragmatism.” It highlighted investment environments and major projects from various Chinese provinces, attracting high-tech enterprises from RCEP countries. The conference also integrated multiple resources to promote industrial cooperation and green low-carbon transformation. Additionally, the involvement of numerous partners injected new vitality into the event, resulting in a series of topic-specific activities.

On the afternoon of March 20, a seminar titled “Compliance Operation- Creating a Compliant Business Environment Together” was held at the Singapore Expo. Business representatives gathered to discuss key issues such as establishing effective compliance mechanisms, assessing cross-border operational risks, and developing information security compliance policies. Mr. Jacky Shi, Assistant General Manager of Yonyou Software (Singapore) Pte. Ltd., shared insights on the challenges businesses face under different national regulations, emphasizing the importance of compliance in global operations.

Jacky Shi highlighted four core challenges in global business operations: financial and tax,human resource,operational,and data compliance. He elaborated on issues such as tax processing, localized attendance for holidays, strategies for cross-border operations, and personal data protection. He stressed that these compliance challenges affect not only economic efficiency but also the reputation and long-term development of enterprises.

He also noted that Yonyou prioritizes compliance, adapting to and adhering to various national regulations to ensure stable and reliable services for customers. Jacky Shi introduced Yonyou’s overseas service institutions and their implementation and operational teams, established in regions such as Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, Southeast Asia, Japan, Europe, the Middle East, and North America. These institutions provide technical support and play a crucial role in compliance, helping Chinese enterprises integrate better into international markets.
